How Your Biz D Score Is Calculated

Transparent scoring methodology. No black boxes.

1. Question-Level Scoring

Every question is mapped to a department and carries a weightage. Each answer produces a score between 0 and 10 for that question:

  • Yes / No: Yes = 10 points, No = 0 points
  • Scale rating (1–10): Your selected rating directly becomes the score
  • Single choice: Each option has a pre-defined score (0–10)
  • Multiple choice: Sum of selected option scores, capped at 10

The final question score is multiplied by its weightage. For example, a question with weightage 1.5 and a score of 6 contributes 9 points to its department.

2. Department Score

All answered questions within a department are summed up. The department percentage is calculated as:

Department % = (Actual Score / Maximum Possible Score) × 100

The maximum possible score for a department is 10 × total weightage of all questions asked for that department.

3. Overall Biz D Score

Your overall score is the simple average of the department percentages that were actually assessed:

Overall Score = Sum of Department Percentages / Number of Departments Assessed
Important note: If your assessment only covers a subset of departments (for example, the Lite assessment covers fewer departments than the Pro assessment), your overall score reflects only those departments. It is most useful when comparing within the same assessment tier.

4. Maturity Levels

Your overall score maps to one of five maturity levels:

Traditional

0 – 20

Manual processes, minimal digital tools

Emerging

21 – 40

Some digital tools, inconsistent adoption

Developing

41 – 60

Digital tools in use, integration improving

Digitally Enabled

61 – 80

Well-digitized with data-driven processes

Digital Leader

81 – 100

Digital innovation, automation, real-time intelligence

5. Industry Benchmarks

Industry benchmarks are shown as a reference point. They are currently indicative estimates based on typical Indian SMB adoption patterns. As more businesses complete assessments, we will calibrate these benchmarks with real aggregated data.

The benchmark comparison is provided for context only. It does not determine your maturity level or score.

6. Strengths & Improvement Areas

We identify your top 3 highest-scoring departments as strengths and your bottom 3 as improvement areas. Recommendations are tailored to your lowest-scoring departments.

7. Data & Privacy
